CB SENDIASS EHCP DRAFT CHECK SERVICE

To help us ensure we can offer you the best advice, can we ask that you download the draft EHCP (and all the reports in the appendices) from the link sent from the EHC Team and save into word format to your phone / laptop.

It is good practise to make a folder on your laptop / tablet / phone and save all documents in there, this will help you keep track of everything and keep all documents together in one place.

  • Go through the draft using, CB SENDIASS EHCP DRAFT CHECK GUIDANCE and highlight any areas you are not sure off and make any comments / questions.
  • Check through the reports from the professionals who were involved in the EHC needs assessment, ensuring that needs, provisions and outcomes have been written into the plan.
  • It is really important, that you understand the EHCP, if there is any wording etc you do not understand, please highlight and you can request the EHCP Coordinator/ SEND officer clarifies for you.
  • If there are significant amendments requested, you are legally entitled to request a co-production meeting.

What sections should an EHC plan have? | (IPSEA)

To help us support you as effectively as possible, please send us the following documents together:

  • All relevant reports
  • The draft EHCP
  • Any questions or comments you may have

Please note that if any of the requested information is missing, it may delay our ability to carry out a thorough check and respond promptly.

Once we’ve received everything, a SENDIASS Officer will carefully review everything and get back to you. In the first instance, you’ll receive an email with any suggestions or recommendations for you to consider. If you have further questions and a phone call would be helpful, we’ll arrange that with you.

Please be aware that we can only offer suggestions around lawful wording or things for you to consider. We are not able to confirm whether the EHCP is a clear reflection of your child or advise on specific provisions they should or shouldn’t have, unless these have not been written into Section F but are detailed in advice provided from a professional involved in the EHCNA process.

Please keep in mind the deadline to respond to the EHC team—15 calendar days. We’re a small team and will do everything we can to get back to you as quickly as possible, but please allow at least 5 working days for us to complete a draft check.
