Vicky Hopkinson, the SENDIASS Officer has been an amazing support throughout the complex complaints procedure I went through with Central Bedfordshire Council, who failed to deliver Section F of my daughter’s EHCP, and failed to follow statutory timeframes to hold the necessary meetings.
I found Central Bedfordshire Council were extremely defensive. They failed to address any of my complaints. They ignored my requests for help and support and failed to respond to my emails. They failed in their statutory duties towards my daughter.
Eventually, following two Stage 2 complaints, Central Bedfordshire Council upheld all my complaints. I have now escalated my complaints to the ombudsman.
I would not have been able to do this without the excellent service from SENDIASS, in particular the support I received from Vicky Hopkinson.
Thank you to all of the SENDIASS Team. Unfortunately, my complaints were too late to help my child, but hopefully my concerns will highlight the issues within the CBC EHCP service, and improvements will be made to help support other children and families.
Charlotte has been incredibly supportive. She connected well with my daughter and they were able to produce PowerPoint presentation for our Appeal. She worked at my daughter’s rate, it can be incredibly challenging to get her to engage with the task in hand, but Charlotte had a wonderful understanding of her specific needs.

Abi was very helpful and supportive. She did a great job of explaining the process to me and highlighting points that I needed to consider, what the tribunal would want to know etc. In the end we didn’t get everything we wanted for my son but did get some important provision confirmed that would otherwise have been lost. I couldn’t say thank you enough
